EXAMINATION OF BULLETS

Concerning the death of .Dodds, the bullets which caused his death have been handed .to. an arms expert to ascertain if they might have been fired from the revolver handed to the pplice bv O’Shea. It was alleged that O’Shea stated that he fired'into the air. A bullet had entered Dodds’ skull bn the right side, whereas O’Shea, was on his left. A previous message stated that as a result of a disturbance outside the United States Hotel at Carlton, John Henry Dodds, aged 42, died from a bullet wound in the head. Jack Maxwell O’Shea, the licensee, was arrested on a charge of murder. According to a statement of O’Shea, he and another man heard sounds of men attempting to break the gate. They saw one man climbing the gate, others assisting. O’Shea.fired a shot from 'a revolver, intending to frighten them, but the man on the gate fe’l off
