The Government is determined on exemplary punishment for the Riffs for penetrating* the French zone in Morocco. It has been decided to send reinforcements, mostly consisting o. aviators and engineers, to Morocco, where General Lyauley at present commands (50,000 troops, only Iwo-thirds of which are available against the Kid’s. The total I tiffs are computed at 20.0<K> though the number of theii reserves is unknown. Operations cover a front of several hundred miles in mountainous country. Three French columns operating against the Riffs claim successes.
