THE JERSEY BREED.
HAAVHRA CATTLE CLUB
FIELD DAY AT SCOTT ROAD
The Hawera Jersey Cattle Club’s field day was well attended, members and others interested from all over the district being present at'Mr. J. S. T. Short’s farm, Scott Road, which was selected as the location. The lecture anid demonstration given by Air. H. E. B. AViatson, official demonstrator for the Dominion, was followed by all with the closest interest, and many questions were asked by those present. Altogether a v very useful day was spent. A large marquee had been erected, and there luncheon and afternoon tea were served by a ladies’ committee, and were most thoroughly appreciated by all. At the conclusion of the afternoon tea a hearty vote of thanks was proposed in very happy terms by Mr. O. Gr. Trotter to the Ladies for their. hospitality, and this was carried by acclaination. ! The appreciation felt by the members at the lecture and demonstration were acknowledged by a cordial vote of thanks to Mr. Watson. Everyone agreed that the lessons learnt and the suggestions made hv the lecturer would be most valuable. The club is indebted to Mr. Short for allowing his .farm and stock to he used. The general arrangements were made under the superintendence of the able and enthusiastic secretary (Mr. R. McOay) and reflect great credit on him and on the club executive.
