RANGATAPU RESERVE. COMMITTEE GETS TO WORK. The Maoris owning the Rangatapu reserve are losing no time in getting to work to carry out their intention to make the place" a. beauty spot. At a meeting of the committee the other day it was decided that no one should be allowed to build on it or oo any other thing without first obtaining the permission of either the trustees or the caretaker. A meeting of the general committee is to be held on April 8, at which will be discussed the report of Mr Morgan of his meeting with members of the Beautifying Society: An invitation is to be issued to all .the owners of the reserve to assist in the beautification work. The committee decided to place on record its appreciation and thanks for the unfailing courtesy of Sergeant Henry and liis officers in seeing that peace was preserved during recent incidents. It was decided to appoint Mr. Stilford as caretaker for the reserve. The committee was advised that the following had been appointed trustees for the reserve: Whakawera- Tumahuki, of Normanby (chairman), Maihi Puano, of Hawera, and Rangimarama Touke, of Normanby.
