The council of the Associated Chambers of Agriculture adopted a resolution expressing the opinion that the Government should, without delay, inquire into the economic and strategic importance of wheat production, with a view to announcing the minimum quantity which should be produced Britain The Committee suggested that the Government’s grant of £1,000.000 to assist in marketing colonial foodstuffs should be accompanied by proportionate assistance to home food producers.
