The youths Crossley and Heggarty were committed for trial at Wolverhampton on a charge of murdering Constable Willits.

A companion of accused, Dixon, aged 14, gave evidence that he saw Heggarty shoot the constable, while witness held Willits’ arm to stop him blowing his whistle. Heggarty fired again twice. The constable staggered across the road and fell. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
