ROYAL SHOW AT CHRISTCHURCH (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH. Jan. 14. Several matters relating to the Royal Show’ to be held here in, November, were discussed at a meeting of the committee of the Canterbury A. and P. Association, which will control the fixture. A programme of proposed improvements totalling £14,520 was submitted and approved, with the condition that the work of covering the remainder of the sheep pens, estimated to cost £5050, is not to be gone on with at once unless funds permit. A noteworthy feature of the meeting, which was indicative of the enthusiasm of members in respect to improving the shoivgrounds, was the subscribing in the room of £BOO towards the purpose. Thus sum, with £2OO given by Mr. John Grigg at the December meeting, makes £looo' subscribed or promised by members of the general committee of the association.
