AUCKLAND’S WELCOME. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 30. Three thousand welcomed the Governor-General (Sir Charles Fergusson) at the Town Hall tonight; when an address cf welcome was presented by the Mayor (Sir James Cunson) timid enthusiasm. Replying, Sir Charles Fergusson said his experiences had already convinced him-, that there was no need for shyness or restraint. The welcome he had received everywhere bad given him the ; greatest' encouragement. He had decided that the best way to prove worthy of this was to take an interest in things which interested New Zealanders.-
