POSITION IN HAWERA. MORE DEATHS; FEWER BIRTHS. The Antal statistics, for Hawera this year show a decided falling off in the number of births and marriages, and an increase of 25 per cent, in the death rate, this unfortunate state pf affairs being also shown in the figures for the 1 months of December, 1924, and December, 1923. The statistics for the year and month just ending, together with tho corresponding figures for last year in parentheses, are as follows, the annual retunri being given first.; Births, 263,-18 (308, 33); deaths, 102, 9 (80 7); marriages, 66, 0 (81, 8).
