MOTOR CARS COLLIDE.
EOT FT. SUFFER. SEVERELY. OCCUPANTS-’ FGRTUE ATE ESCAPE. Shortly after 12 noon to-day, the top ol! a rise on tlio Fit ham Road, about 2IH) yards oast of the • Duthie Road, was the scene of a violent motor collision, in which a two-seater Morris-Cowley ear, driven by Air. A. H. Guy, of tlawera, and a five-seater Buiek, driven by Air. F. Stuart, of Oaonui, were concerned. Air. Guy was driving alone and Mr. Stuart, who was accompanied by his wife and two-year-old son and Mr. J. Stockhouse, was approaching M-angatoki. Considering the extensive damage done to the cars, the occupants were exceedingly fortunate in escaping serious injury. Airs. Stuart suffered a bruised arm and Air. Guy was badly bruised and shaken. Evidently the near front wheels engaged and the fore undercarriage of Air. Guy’s car wa-s completely wrecked, the axle being torn from the chassis, and after being turned round was thrown across the bonnet, with the twisted w heels '•till attached. The windscreen was shattered and other damage was also done. The undercarriage’ of Air. Stuart’s car eras badlv damaged, one wheel collapsing completely and various parts bein~ strained and twisted.
