SPORTS REQUIREMENTS.

DRESSING SHEDS AND SHOWERS. SITE WANTED' ON PARK. From remarks passed at the meeting of the Hawera Borough Count!, night, it appears that the' sports bodies find the tenure of the Egmont A. and P. Association's ' produce shea to be. unsuitable, and they are non looking lor a site in the park grounds for the proposed dressing sheds. Cr. Townsend, who reported the matter to the council, said he had seeii Air. L. O'. Hooker that morning, and Air. Hooker had informed him that the tenure' of the A. and P. Association’s shed did not warrant the spending of public money there, and the sports bodies would like the council to go- into the matter of a site oi the park grounds, Cr. Townsend said it appeared that for the meantime the question of a gymnasium in connection with the building- had beer dropped, and dressing sheds with showers installed were what were at present proferred." A site was wanted in such a. location as would make the building available for sports on both the park and the A. and P. 'show grounds. Cr. Osborne thought that before the council came to any decision tliev should meet- the snorts bodies’ representatives on the show grounds. .Councillors agreed that this was the wisest'course, and .it was left with Cr Townsend to arrange a- meeting of those- concerned.-after the holidays.
