SHIPPING DISPUTE.
OWNERS’ APPLICATION. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT - MELBOURNE, Dee. 15. In the Arbitration Court Mr. Justice Powers adjourned till Monday next the shipowners’- application for the deletion of the overtime clause of the existing award, stating that unless the Wj'andra at Brisbane and the Canberra at Sydney were manned, he would have to consider the disregistration of the union if such an application were made by the owners. SYDNEY, Dec., 15. Following on the receipt of Mr. Justice Powers’ decision in the Arbitration Court, the crew of the Can. berra decided to take the vessel to sea. The Canberra sailed, .at 10 p.in. DISPUTE AT FREMANTLE." PERTH, Dec. 15. The local seamen’s dispute is still unsettled. When the Oram a arrived from England she was unable to enter the harbour as the tugs were still out of commission, and she Was compelled to disembark her passengers and mails by launch outside the heads. COURT ACTION WITHDRAWN. 1 SYDNEY. Dec. 15. In _ the High Court the overseas shipping companies withdrew their application for an injunction. The abolition of the shipping labour bureau came as a complete surprise to the members of the bureau, as they were shortly applying for the registration of the bureau as a union. A meeting of members is to he Jield at the week-end to consider the position.
