IRISH FREE STATE.

EQUALITY WITH BRITAIN. BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON, Dec. 14. An interesting development has arisen in connection with the status of the Irish Free State, which claims independent powers in relation to treaty-making and a co-equal status with .Britain. The Free State registered with the secretariat of the League of Nations a treaty with Britain, constituting the Free State. Therefore the treaty did not come within Article 18 of the covenant.
