PRINCE’S HOPE. * BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. LONDON, Dec. 13. Nearly two thousand members of Toe H. from all parts of the country gathered at London to-day oh the occasion of the anniversary of the opening of the original Talbot House at Poperinghe in 1915. The Prince of Wales attended attired in a Toe H. blazer, and formally opened the new' branch at Kennington. Subsequently he attended a most impressive thanksgiving ceremony at Barking, the congregation including the Lord Mayor (Lord Plumer) and many other prominent persons. The Prince unveiled the chapel which Bishop Talbot dedicated. After this the congregatin' went in a torchlight procession t>. Tower Hill, where “The Old Hundredth” was sung. The Prince later attended a supper in the Memorial Hall, wdiere the proceedings were most thrilling. In the course of a speech the Prince of Wales said lm hoped to visit Toe H. branches during His forthcoming tour and bring back greetings. He alluded to the forthcoming vis.it of the founder of the Toe. H. (the Rev. “Tubby” Clayten) to Australia, where he hoped Lord Forster (the Govetrnor-Gencral), who was a member of the Toe H., would ask the Anzacs to enter the fold. Although Toe H. w'as the nursery, they must rememlier those Who lived far away but w'ho belonged to the Empire.
