Sir Harry Waechter , Bart., left £608,697 net, on which tlie death duties amounted to £170,000. He left half the residue to his successor in the title and half to his nephew in Berlin, stipulating that if the present German legaev laws are not replaced the nephew must reside in the British Empire and become a British subject LONDON. Dec. 6. The Berlin correspondent of the Daily Express says Dr. Waechter, a professor of economics, the nephew of Sir Harry Waechter, says: “I am a German and I am going to remain a German. All the money in the world would not tempt me to change my nationality. I was always on the best terms with my uncle, and I confess I am surprised atthis condition in his will, which he must have known I would not accept.” Dr Waechter has a wife and six children. the eldest being twelve, and his decision means the loss of £230,000.
