BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT
(Received Dec. 8, 11.60 a.m.) CAPETOWN, Dec. 7. Experimental wireless working at Milnerton reveals, greater success as the wave length shortens. The tests were started on 92 metres, and are now working on 60, and probably .even lower waves may be tried. At one period, using an amplifier, operators standing outside a hut with the door closed could read the signals emanating from the handphones. The operators were satisfied that the signal strength was of sufficient intensity to admit automatic working at ni"h speed. The Cape Times received tlie first press message direct from England by wireless from; the Marconi Company, who, replying to congratulations on the success of , the experiments, stated that experimental transmission to all other parts of the Empire have been equally successful.
