INTERIM INJUNCTION.

$ . PATEA COUNTY LOAN. An interim unjunction restraining the Pate a County Council from taking further steps in the raising of a loan of £2900 for the metalling of the Llukatere and Ofcauto roads was granted by His Honor Mr Justice MacGregor in the Supreme Court at New Plymouth on Saturday on the petition of Robert Bremer, fanner, of Waverley-. The injunction is to hold good until a further order is made by the court.

In support of the petition, Mr L. Etherington said that application to have the loan quashed would he made to the court later in the session. The council had made application to the State Advances Office for the loan, and the present petition was being brought to restrain further action with regard to the loan until the princinal petition had been dealt with.

In the petition to have the Joan quashed it is alleged bv the petitioner that some of the consents given to the loan do not fully romnlv" with the requirements of the Local'Bodies Loans Act, and that without these consents the loan was not authorised by the necessary three-fourths maiority'of the ratepayers. The district affected is the Otaiito special rating district.
