SUPERVISION IN AUCKLAND. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, Dec. 3. At the quarterly meeting of the Auckland Licensing Committee to-dav, the chairman (Mr E. C. Cut-ten, S.M.) said he Mould like to remark upon a case which came before the Supreme Court a little while ago, when the jury added something to their verdict which might be regarded as casting a reflection uiion the police sunervision of licensed houses in Auckland. “This committee*” said the chairman, “is-unanimously of the opinion that no reflection upon the police supervision of licensed houses in Auckland is justified. The committee is also of the opinion that the oolice keeD a very careful oversight on all hotels in Audiland? and the committee is in a post* tion to judge.”
