Go. shows, after allowing for depreciation and debenture interest, a credit balance of £1,072,000, including £lOl,000 brought forward. A dividend of 5 per cent on preferred shares and 12 per cent on deferred, tax free, was declared. A sum of £249,000 was placed to reserve for the redemption of debentures, and £139,000 to discount and charges on debenture stock. The insurance fund remains at £3.218,000, and there was carried forward £lOl,000. Ihe report states that the mail ™n iC I nas . cari 'i € d on under some difficulty owing to loss by enemv action or many fine ships, but next Year there vv as every prospect of a reversion to the full pre-war schedule on all lines, ihe company hopes to resume at the beginning of 1925 the fortnightly service to Australia by means of the Gathay class of steamer now being constructed.
