ENGINEERS’ HOURS.
REDUCTION ASKED FOR. (IIY TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION. . GREYMOUTH, Dec. 3. ihe Engineers’ Union aoplied for a new award, mainly dealing* with hours and-wages, at the sitting of the Arbitration Court to-day. The union asked for 44 hours a week and 2s 6d an hour. The application for 44 hours instead of 48 was 1 opposed by several employers and by the Dispatch Foundry Company on the giound that they could not afford the consequent loss in wages. Judgment was reserved.
