NOBEL PEACE PRIZE. BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT CHRISTIANIA, Dec. 2. * The Nobel Prize Committee has ded to award the peace prize this year; as no suitable candidate is forthcoming. JELLICOE IN YACHT RACESYDNEY, Dec. 3. A race, arranged by the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club to enable J-iOrd Jellicoe and. the Governor of New South Wales (Admiral Sir Dudley De Chair) to join issue, was contested under ideal sailing conditions. Lord Jellicoe skippered the Governor-Gen-eral s boat, while Sir Dudley De Chair had command of his own craft. The race was won by W. Arnott’6 £\QttLe, with Sir Dudley De Chair’s yacht fifth and Lord Jellieoe’s last. PRESS CONFFJRENCE. LONDON, Dec. 2. Lord Burnham, at the annual meeting- of the Empii-e Press Union, referreof° the Imperial Press Conference to be held in Australia in September next, and said the council was going to make the gathering no less successful than the two preceding conferences. It v/as hoped to make the visit not only enjoyable, but most useful. TROTSKY SUPERSEDED. _ MOSCOW, Dec. 2. General Srunze. from tlie Ukraine, will supersede Trotsky in the presidency of the army and navy conference, indicating that Trotsky’ has resigned his position as Commissioner for War. MINORITY VOTE. SYDNEY, Dec. 3. Only ol ner cent, of those on the roll voted in the civic elections in Sydney, and Labour won on a minority vote.
