WELLINGTON COLLEGE.

JUBILEE PROCEEDINGS. A HUGE (From Our Own Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 2. Most inspiring was the meeting on Saturday evening and the procession on Sunday to the Town Hall, where an impressive service was held, conducted by Old Boys ministers. Old and present boys met on the college ground. The former were divided by banners, showing the year of entry to th© school from 1867 up to the present day. The procession was three-quarters of a mile long, and marched through the streets, which were crowded with interested spectators.

The 'procession was headed by a military band, followed by the college drum and fife band.

On arrival at the hall the Old Boys opened out in columns. The Present Boys, 800 strong, marched through in four, and the Old Boys followed. They were all greeted by Mr. Firth (exprincipal). The Town Hall was crowded with Old and Present Boys, and the galleries packed with relations and friends. The singing by the great company was very inspiring. They sang the Old Hundredth, “O God our Help in Ages Past,” the Te Deum, and the National Anthem. The Last Post-and the Reveille were sounded by the College bugler in honour. of the boys who gave their lives for their country in the great war.

A stirring address was given by the Rev. J. M. Thomson, formerly of Stratford, from the text: ‘‘Jesus Christ, Captain of Our Salvation. ” The whole proceedings were marked with wonderful and reverent earnestness.

On Saturday evening striking addresses were given by Sir Robert Stout, Sir H. D. Bell, Messrs J. P. Firth, W. F. Ward, R. Darroch, A. De B. Brandon, and T. Cresswell. To-day Old and Present Boys meet on the College grounds, where a grand sports meeting is being held. The general opinion is that the jubilee proceedings proved one *of the greatest events in the history of Wellington.
