MALE CHOIR.
CONCERT TO-NIGHT. Many successful performances have been given by the Male Choir during the twelve seasons of their life. The programme arranged for s to-night promises to be one of the very best, ihe choral numbers include a varied selection, each of which lias a style of its own and a. charm that will appeal more to different listeners. Two very appropriate isea songs will be presented in the ‘‘Song of the .Viking*' and The Sea Fight,” and this type of part song is always popular. In fighter vein will be the Negro melody, Oh, Peter, Go Ring, Dem Bells/' Since You Went Away” and the amusing story of “The. Frog.” These form an excellent series which are cetrain to be appreciated. Miss Kathleen Wood, a well-known vyanganui soprano, will assist the choir. Her part in the programme will be the two fine songs, “One Fine Djay” (from “Madame Butterfly”) and the well-known “Spring’s Awakening'’ (by SandersonV Miss Wood conies with an excellent name as a gifted and attractive, singer. The other soloist will he Mr. Claud Moss, of Hawera. He was one of the oest baritones in Wellington and was always popular with his audiences. The addition of his name to the programme is a' distinct attraction for music lovers.
The winning Male Choir quartette, Messrs. E. Jones, Strange. Liddington and Herbert-, will contribute two items, “To the Stans” and “The Soldier’s Farewell,” and these are both certain to he appreciated. The programme is one that is certain to attract a large audience, and the committee expect to sec the Opera House quite filled.
