MINISTERS’ STIPENDS
(by telegraph PRESS ASSOCIATIONm. PALMERSTON N., Nov. 17. The Rev. W. J. Comne (general treasurer) outspokenly supported the protests of ministers against their inadequate stipend at the Presbyterian General Assembly to-day, and declared that they were absolutely unworthy. !S y ; fiV l!r ars ago a minister with to £235 was. 50 per cent better oft than to-day. Amendments to the regulations govthe Otago sustenation fund were adopted, providing for raising the minimum to £275 and, if possible, to £3OO, the churches to contribute according to their means. &
