BRITAIN AWAKES
TO ALL BLACKS’ MERIT
GREAT SPORTING PAPER. SAYS PLAYERS ARE BRILLIANT. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. (Received Nov. 19, 9.50 a.m.) LONDON, Nov. 17. The All Blacks are probably in better condition at present than at any stage of the tour. Harvey’s throat is better, and Porter: and Robilliard have recovered from their leg injuries. All three are included in the team against Oxford. Mr Dean, the manager, is negotiating for a match at St. John’s, New Brunswick, and two in Victoria, British Columbia.
The Athletic News says that a great many Rugbyites are of the opinion that no more brilliant form was shown in the United Kingdom by any team than was revealed by the New Zealanders in the second half of the match against London Counties.
WHEN WRONG—ADMIT IT,
ALL BLACKS EULOGISED
(Received Nov. 17, 3.5 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 16. Philip Trevor, in the Daily Telegraph, says the New Zealanders won handsomely, brilliantly and deservedly. They outpaced, outmanoeuvred and outlasted the Londoners., The lesson of the match is it is pace that matters, and initial pace is infinitely more important than subsequent pace. He adds: “Let us be grateful to the New Zealanders for rubbing into us the need of pace, even if rubbing in hurts. FLIGHT OVER LONDON. LONDON, Nov. 17. The All Blacks on Sunday made an aeroplane flight over London* Two aeroplanes, one accommodating 14 and the other eight, were provided. These ordinarily would carry 22 passengers and a quantity of luggage easily, but 22 All Blacks were so heavy without luggage that a third aeroplane was requisitioned. - The New Zealanders were so satisfied with the flight that they intend to fly to France.
