BIG FIRE.

HEAVY DAMAGE

(by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION WELLINGTON, Nov. 8.

A fire occurred at 226 Lambton Quay at. 2.39 o’clock this morning in the building owned by Robt. Hannah, which was insured in the New Zealand Office for £2BOO. The occupants were: Abraham Tossman, furrier; Mrs Lucy Catherine Oxspring, ladies’ tailor; Phillip Tossman, hairdresser and tobaewas a policy in the Northern Company eonist. Abraham Tossman had a policy in the Northern Gonvpany for £1870; Phillip Tossman had insured for a sum of £1100; and Mrs Oxspring in the Commercial for £5767. The building and contents were badly damaged.
