PECULIAR CASE.
GIRL ROPED IN BEDROOM. POLICE INVESTIGATIONS. (by telegraph—press association. . WELLINGTON, Oct. 1. Ihe police have been investigating the case of a girl university student of -2 who was found one morning roped up m a, bedroom of the house where she was staying and the room ransacked. Her purse, alleged to contain £4, was empty. A second simi* liar occurrence happened during the day-time when the girl was in the house. The police examined fingerprints, and from them and other indications came to the conclusion that the girl herself was responsible. The finale came yesterday when the girl suddenly removed herself and belongings from, the house and disappeared.
