BOWLING.
STRATFORD v. ELTHAM. By 130 points to 128, Eltham suffered its first defeat of the season in the centre banner competition in its match against Stratford on the Eltham bowling greens on Thursday afternoon (the Argus reports). The greens were very fast. By the time ten heads had been played by all rinks, Eltham had a lead of 23, but thereafter the visitors improved in nearly every rink.
