ELTHAM.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) MOTOR ACCIDENT. -While returning from school yesterday afternoon Mary Corbett, daughter of Mr E. Corbett, Mountain road, Eltliam, was run into by a motor car. It appears that Miss Corbett was walking along the road near Mr Wilkinson’s residence on the Mountain road, and a motor car was travelling the same way, and although the horn was sounded the very strong wind which was blowing at the time prevented Miss Corbett from hearing the warning signal, and just as the car was almost un to her she jumped) right in front of the car and was knocked down. Luckily the car was not travelling very fast, or the injuries would have been more serious. As it was Miss Corbett sustained a broken collarbone, a broken ankle hone, and a large cut on the right leg, and also a very severe shaking. She was immediately conveyed to Dr. Cooper’s hospital, where her injuries were* attended to.
