Reports confirm ,the occupation of Lanchow by Chang-Tso-Liu*s forces Official foreign messages indicate that the retreat of the Chihli troops towards the sea began on October 27, and a considerable number of troops are southward to Lutai, to which they are marching. It is impossible yet to estimate the extent of the collapse, owing to the absence of news regarding the main Chihli forces at Shanhaikwan.
