DOWNFALL DUE TO DRINK. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Oct. 21. Frederick Fanning, a well-known land agent, who was recently admitted to probation for two years on a charge of fraudulently converting trust moneys to his own use, was this morning sentenced to two months’ imprisonment for breach of the probation order. The probation officer said that drink seemed to be- the cause of the trouble. Fanning had lost two good positions through his indulgence in liquor. He had ignored all warnings to abstain.
