POSSIBLE SHORTAGE IN TARANAKI. Each year sees the various freezing works blocked at the height of the season, and some farmers in consequence have to. wait with their freezing stocks. Very-often this means a big loss, especially with lambs, and now that the Smart Road works in New Plymouth have been closed permanently, while there is also a possibility of Patea doing likewise, the danger of serious losses to the farmers of this district looms up very large.
