CHARGE OF TREASON.
POISONS FOR SOLDIERS. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. PARIS, Oct. 7. An astounding treason case is developing as a result of inquiries by the procureur of the republic into a dossier of Charles Plouin, an army contractor, of Moret. Three letters written to Germans have been found. The first asked the German authorities to instruct Plouin how best to poison the forage of horses of the Rhine army, the second asked tor information regarding poisons which might be used , against French troops, and the third letter asked for suggestions for cheeking the growth of the French population. : When arrested Plouin admitted the authorship of the letters. He said he intended to get as much money as Sossible from the Germans and then upe them. It appears Plouin expected the Germans to provide funds to open in Paris, whence he could carry on a campaign against public health.
