FARMER’S SUICIDE.

FINANCIAL WORRIES. (EJT TELEGRAPH— VTIVRR ASSOCIATION } CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 3. At. an inquest concerning the death of A. T. G. Symons, a retired sheepfarmer, the police evidence showed that the body was found in a river tying face downwards in the water. Deceased had a sheath knife clenched in his right hand. He had a large gash in the throat and there was a large cut on the left .wrist.

The Coroner stated that it appeared the deceased had had finnacial worry and was depressed. The wounds on the body were evidently self inflicted, and it- was surmised that deceased had either fallen or thrown himself into the water after he had become weak from loss of blood. He returned a verdict that death was due to drowning following the loss of blood from injuries self inflicted while deceased was in a depressed state of mind from financial worries.
