BRITISH MINERS’ POSITION. TV CABLE—PRESS ASSneiATIO"C—COPYRJOm LONDON, Oct. 1. The miners’ executive and Mr Ramsay MacDonald had a long conference on the question of the effects of the Dawes scheme on the coal mining industry. The miners urged that the settlement of reparations in coal should he discontinued, as the industry was already in a state of jeopardy, with 100,000 men workless. Mr MacDonald replied that the Ministry had accepted the Dawes plan and could not now modify it.
