INCIDENTS IN BRAZIL
*» OAKEN — FKKBH A MH< )CI A TJON —COPYRIGHT LONDON, Sept. 29. The Morning Post states it is understood. that a court of inquiry under the chairmanship of Lord Blanesburgh (formerly Lord Justice Younger), will sit at . the Foreign Office shortly to inquire into- the complaint as to his treatment, made by Mr Walter Annesley Stewart, Counsellor to the British Embassy at Rio de Janeiro since June, 1922. The evidence is likely to be of a remarkable nature.
Mr Stewart has arrived in London. He alleges that he was removed from his home in Rio by Brazilian policemen and. detained in an asylum, but eventually was released and allowed to return to England. ~ Sir John Tilley (British Ambassador at Rio) is en route to London for the purpose of giving evidence. * The Foreign Office, while declining to give any details, says that unfortunately it is true that there’have been some incidents in connection with Mr Stewart and his post. It is added that Sir Maurice de Bunsen, a former Ambassador to several countries, has been invited to sit with Lord Blanesburgh, and that it will be in the nature of a disciplinary inquiry.
