LADIES’ TOURNAMENT. - AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIP. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 29. The ladies’ provincial golf championship tourney opened to-day in fine weather. The best performance was that of Mrs Guy Williams, of Wellington; who returned 81, two better than the holder of the title, Mrs Slack, of Cambridge. The following were left in the championship at the end of the day’s play: Mrs Williams (Wellington), Miss M. Cooper (Auckland), Mrs R. Grace (Wanganui), Miss N. Mac Cormack (Auckland), Miss S. Acheson (Nelson), Miss M. Cato (Napier),, Miss M. Payton (Auckland), Mrs Slack (Cambridge).
