AVONDALE EXPLOSION.
AN EXPLANATION. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. 1 AUCKLAND, Sept. 29. Investigations by detectives,, it is stated, tend to the conclusion that the -explosion in the Avondale to:talisator was due to the escape of gas. It has transpired that the doors were forced by three men who were the first to arrive after the explosion. One noticed a smell of gas and turned off the tap at the meter.
