CYCLE RACING. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept, 29. Wright has been selected by the North Canterbury Cycling Union to compete in-the Warnambooi road race. Bell, who had second fastest time, may also be .sent. Le Comte has entered and is paying his own expenses BURIED BY FALL OF EARTH. AUCKLAND, Sept. 29. John Turner, aged 29, was admitted to hospital suffering from injuries received through being buried in a fall of earth at the gasworks. He was digging in a pit nine feet down when the sides collapsed, burying him. He was dug out by the other workers. The injuries comprise a slight injury to a knee and bruises and shock. Turner is progi-essing favourably. ANOTHER WIRELESS RECORD. TIMARU, Sept. 29. On Sunday a Timaru wireless amateur, Mr. H. B. Courtis, established another record for. long distance reception in copying the signals of the s.‘s. Bowdoin (W.N.P.), at present at Etah. North Greenland, with Dr MacMillan’s North Pole expedition.’ The signals, although not strong, were quite clear and easily readable. The Bowdoin was working the headquarters of the American radio relay league.
