Minimum rates of oay t fit red by r the employers are : Steamers 101 tc 600 gross tons, masters £34 6s Bd, chief officers £25 6s Bd, second officers £2l 6s 8d ; steamers 601 to 1000 tons, masteas £36 6s Bd, chief officers £23 6s °d, second officers £22 6s Bd. The Guild claim is: (a) Masters £3B, chief _officers £25 ss, second officers £22 ss; (b) masters £4O, chief officers £25 15s, second officers £22 ss. After a brief discussion it was decided to defer lor the present consideration of the rates of pay. Before the Conciliation Council in the shipping dispute the parties agreed to the clauses regarding the time hook and the home port of officers. They also agreed on the clause dealing with the victualling allowance, masters and officers to receive 12s 6d per day v or £2 3s per week, for victualling, tlie allowances for accommodation only to he os 6d per day and for victualling 8s 6d per day. There was also an agreement on the employers’ clause relating to annual holidays corresnonding to the existing award.
