RUGBY VERSUS LEAGUE
(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, Sept. 11. Another round in the battle between the Rugby Union and the League has been decided by the union obtaining from "the A. -and P. Society a further five years’ lease of Tahuna Parle. Both bodies had waited on the society, the league urging that the lease be put up to public auction.' The society, however, felt under a moral obligation to give the union a renewal of the lease.

One of the fastest and most spectacular games ever witnessed here took place when the Hawke’s Bay team, containing j ten of the Ranfurly Shield fifteen, ivas defeated by the Wairoa Sub-Union representatives by 31 points to 25.
