ENGLISH TEAM IN AMERICA. BI CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT NEW YORK, Sept. 9. The English cricket team, including several Australians, captained by E. J. Metcalf, has arrived. They proceeded to the Crescent Athletic Club, where they play matches on Friday and Saturday, thence entraining to Philadelphia, where they engage in eight matches, beginning on September 22.

ENGLISH ELEVEN v. YORKSHIRE.

LONDON, Sept. 10. . England’s team against Yorkshire on Saturday will be Gilligan, Douglas, Bryan, Chapman, Hobbs, Sandham, Wpolley, Hearne, Hendren, R. Tyldesley, Strud-yvick.

PLAY IN ENGLAND

LONDON, Sept. 9. The Players, in their first innings, made 144 (Allen five wickets for 40) and in their second innings have lost one wicket for 39. The Gentlemen, in their first innings, made 198 (Chapman 101). Kennedy took six wickets for 82 runs. The game was abandoned owing to rain. $

Lord Cowdrav’s eleven, in their first innings, made. 314 for eight "wickets and declared. , Tate took five wickets for 77. Their second innings produced 159 (Gilligan seven for 90 and Tate Three for 37). The Rest of England in their first innings made 367 (Relf 114 and. Stephens 121), and in their second innings 107 for six wickets.
