PARK CLUB,

ANNUAL MEETING

There was a good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Bark Tennis Club, which was> held in the Borough Council Chambers last night.' The annual report stated that financially the club was in a good position, the credit balance at the bank being £9 2s 3d. The expenditure had been fairly heavy, but every attempt had been made to keep ii down as low 7 as possible, consistent with the successful working of the club. The membership had increased, the total now standing at 69. This must be considered satisfactory when it was remembered that there were three clubs in the town. During the . season it had been found necessary to alter the courts so as to make six double courts and allow 7 a good run-back behind each. They had also handed over two of the courts to the Technical School, as they could not come to satisfactory arrangements for the school pupils to use all the courts. The school hoard, however, had undertaken to pay a percentage of the rental to the Borough 'Council, so that everything was now running smoothly between the club and the school authorities. . The club had entered a team in the inter-club competitions, but although they had played well had not met with much success. Several matches had been played by Jhe Wednesday team, and each match had been won. Thanks were due to all those who had subscribed to the club’s funds and to all others who had assisted in any wav. They were also indebted to the press. The report and balance-sheet were then adopted. Officers for the ensuing year w 7 ere elected as follow: Patron, Mr J. R. Corrigan, M.P.; president, Mr L. A. Boue; vice-presidents, Messrs W. G. Strange, Bullock, F. W. Sutton, E. Dixon, J. G. Osborne, W. Gilbert, J. M. Townsend. H. L. Spratt, W. A. Spragg, C. Murch; club* captain, Mr T.
