ENTERTAINMENTS.

OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT. “THE VALLEY OF SILENT MEN.” The audience of the Opera House last night thrilled to as fine a picture of tlie Canadian North-West as has been presented here in pinny months. So intense was the story, so swift the action, and so impressive the settings, that the audience fairly lived the story rather than merely watched its development. Bearing tiie title of “The Valley of Silent Men,” it is a masterpiece of the screen. In the featured role of a French-Ciinadian girl, Alma Rubens acquits herself creditably. Lew Cody is seen in an excellent character role, and gives a performance which stands out effectively. Mention must also be made of the performance of Joe King, while no little praise is due George Nash, Mario Majeroni, and J. W. Johnston. An excellent supporting programme will be presented.
