DEATH OF AMATEUR CHORUS GIRL. RESULT OF BURNS. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WANGANUI, Sept. 3. Miss Lily Darby, who was desperately burned during the performance of? the “Gay Parisienne” by local amateurs on. Tuesday evening, passed away, to-night. The tragedy has caused a gloom and further performances of the play have been postponed.

She threw the hat on the floor and attempted to stamp out the flames, when her dress of cotton wool caught fire. In a moment she was a mass of flame.
