FAILURE IN KING COUNTRY
REPRESENTATIONS BY LICENSING COMMITTEE.
(BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WAIT All A, Sept. 3. The Waitomo Licensing Committee, at to-day’s quarterly meeting, resolved that, having regard to the greatly increased European population iii the and the large quantity vf liquor annually imported into the district, it is of the opinion :—(1). That the proclamation of 1884 should be repealed forthwith; (2) that- a- local oplion poll should be taken throughout the King Country; and (3) that in the event .of a favourable vote licenses should forthwith be granted. It was decided that a, copy of tlie resolution be forwarded to the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
