HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY,
A well attended meeting of the executive of the Eltham Horticultural Society was held in the C.E.M.S. rooms last- evening, Mr A. Chrvstal (president) presided.
The secretary (Mr Peppercll) reported that Mr Robert Gibson had agreed to stage the largest exhibit of daffodils ever shown in Taranaki, also that he had agreed to act as .judge in the daffodil section, and Mr V. Davies, of New Plymouth, will judge the cut. flowor3 section.
The full quota of stewards and judges in other sections was appointed, subject to their approval. Applications for schedules were being received from numerous exhibitors in all parts of tlie North Island. The president stated that it was evident that there was going to be keen competition in the professional class for the best exhibit of fifteen daffodils for the Cooper Cup, judging by the number of entries so far.
Full arrangements were made in eonneetion with the details of the show*.
