GRAND THEATRE — TO-NIGHT.
“WATCH YOUR STEP.”
“Watch Your Step,” the new Goldv.yn pi eture playing at the Grand Theatre to-night, is a smooth eomedv with many surprises. The hero, played bv Cullen Landis, lias a manaia for speed, anq is cured only by a strange series of incidents that arise after he lias had his ghc grand smash-up with a racing car. The hero’s nature seems changed after this, as are his clothes (a band of tramps get l hem), and lie Likes up life in a small country town. Things are different here, especially the feminine interest added in the person of Patsy Ruth Miller. She is young, pretty ami charming, and we didn’t blame* Cullen Landis for hanging around until the final reel. He had to meet a lot of opposition before that date lie made to look at the moon. But he got what he wanted, as well as his father’s forgiveness. Let us hope that his father gave him a tricycle for a weddidg present instead of another racing auto. “Watch Your Step” was directed by William Beaudine. It is a fine example of rollicking, clean comedy. The supporting programme in excellent, and includes a splendid Mermaid comedy, “The Steeplechaser,” and an exceptionally good Australian scenic.
