A party of five Australians concerned 'in tlie Taranaki oilfields venture a-rived by the Niagara, yesterday. They are : Messrs. Colin Fraser (Melbourne), chairman of directors; A. E. Prone (Sydney)', director; E; H. Shackell (Melbourne), secretary; M. B. Hamer (Adelaide), stocktaker, one of the. underwriters of the company; and A. H. P. Moline, who is to he general manager in Taranaki, The object of the visit is for the directors to see the property for themselves. They told, the Taranaki Herald’s Auckland representative that the company was prepared to spend a very large sum of looney to exploit thoroughly the commercial possibilities of Llie oil area, They were extremely hopeful, from Dr. Clapp’s report that their efforts would be successful. All the money would be spent in actually boring for oil and no time would be lost in making an active start as soon as the mahinery arrived. Mr. Moline will remain in Taranaki as general manager with headquarters at New Plymouth, and the others will return to Australia in a fortnight.
