COMPLAINT BY MOTORISTS

CONDITIONS NEAR WELLINGTON

(by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 2. Motorists are complaining that fees are collected from them and that they get no return. It is alleged that none of the tyre money will be spent within 40 miles of Wellington, and meanwhile the roads just outside are in an impossible condition. Since January 1, 1922, £248,037 has been collected in the Dominion, of which £105,549 came from Wellington. The Government is to be petitioned to force the local bodies to put the main roads out of Wellington in order.
